Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer
Edinburgh or London | Permanent
We’re transforming how our technology infrastructure is built and delivered - moving from traditional data centres to a modern, secure and scalable hybrid-cloud environment. As we enter this next chapter, we’re looking for a Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer to help shape and deliver that journey.
This is a role for someone who builds, improves and modernises - not someone who simply maintains. You’ll work across the full infrastructure stack, designing solutions, leading technical delivery, and helping us create the resilient cloud-ready platform that supports the future of our business.
What you’ll be doing
- Designing and delivering the next stage of our hybrid network and cloud architecture.
- Modernising legacy infrastructure and leading migration and transformation projects.
- Building and improving Azure infrastructure, connectivity and landing zones.
- Designing IAM, security and policy controls across cloud and on-prem environments.
- Troubleshooting complex infrastructure and network issues.
- Working closely with Security, Architecture, Cloud and Application teams to turn strategy into practical solutions.
- Automating infrastructure and reducing manual processes.
- Improving resilience, monitoring, performance and operational efficiency.
- Providing senior technical input during major incidents when required.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
