Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer – Cloud Transformation
Manchester | Hybrid
We're looking for a highly hands-on Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer to join a growing technology business undertaking a major transformation of its internal IT environment. This is a newly created, high-impact role where you'll act as the technical anchor within the Internal IT team, working closely with the Head of IT Operations to modernise cloud, identity and network infrastructure.
The key project
We're specifically looking for someone who has personally led and technically delivered a migration from a hybrid/on-premises Windows domain towards a cloud-only Microsoft environment.

You'll be involved in:
- Migrating Active Directory/domain services to Entra ID
- Decommissioning on-premises Domain Controllers and legacy Windows services
- Moving GPOs to Intune
- Migrating DHCP from Windows Server to firewalls/network infrastructure
- Transitioning DNS away from on-premises infrastructure
- Implementing Entra ID Enterprise Applications, SSO and Conditional Access
- Delivering Intune, Autopilot and Autopatch
- Leading network modernisation across Meraki, Fortinet, switching, Wi-Fi and firewalls
- Managing M365, Entra ID, Intune, Exchange Online and SharePoint Online
- Acting as the senior escalation point and mentoring other engineers

What we're looking for
You'll need strong hands-on experience across Windows Server, Active Directory, Entra ID, Microsoft 365, Intune and networking. Most importantly, we're looking for someone who has already owned this type of transformation technically — designing the approach, carrying out the migration and cutover, troubleshooting issues and decommissioning the legacy environment.
