Senior Infrastructure Engineer
Location: Cardiff / Remote
Working Pattern: Remote, with quarterly attendance at the Cardiff office
Contract: Inside IR35
Contract Length: Until 2 April 2027
Security Clearance: Active SC Clearance Required
The Opportunity
We are looking for three experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineers to join a high-performing infrastructure and engineering team supporting secure, resilient and highly available infrastructure and platform services.
This is a hands-on engineering role combining Linux, AWS, Infrastructure as Code, automation, containerisation and infrastructure security. You will play a key role in designing, implementing and maintaining secure infrastructure while helping improve operational resilience, availability and efficiency.
You will work closely with engineering, security and operational teams, providing technical expertise across the infrastructure estate and supporting the continuous improvement of secure and reliable services.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, administer and maintain secure and resilient infrastructure and platform services.
- Engineer and manage AWS cloud infrastructure and services.
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
- Administer and support Linux-based environments.
- Build, manage and support Docker and containerised environments.
- Develop automation and operational tooling using Bash and Python.
- Apply infrastructure security best practices throughout the full infrastructure lifecycle.
- Support infrastructure hardening and secure configuration management.
- Contribute to identity and access management activities.
- Identify, assess and remediate infrastructure vulnerabilities and security risks.
- Support monitoring, logging and incident response.
- Help maintain high levels of availability, resilience and operational performance.
- Provide technical advice on secure infrastructure design and implementation.
- Work collaboratively with engineering, security and operational teams.
- Identify opportunities for automation, optimisation and continuous improvement.
- Ensure infrastructure solutions comply with relevant security policies, standards and best practice.

You should be comfortable working in environments where security, resilience, availability and operational reliability are critical.
Security Clearance
Active SC Clearance is essential. Candidates must already hold valid Security Check (SC) clearance and be able to satisfy the relevant security requirements for the role.
Working Arrangement
The role is primarily remote, with an expectation that successful candidates will attend the Cardiff office once per quarter.
