Role Description

The Senior Infrastructure Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in London, responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining core infrastructure services that support CIMB BANK BERHAD’s banking operations. This role involves managing servers, storage, and networking components, monitoring system performance, and ensuring high availability and resilience of critical platforms. The engineer will perform advanced troubleshooting, coordinate incident response, implement security best practices, and collaborate with application, security, and operations teams to deliver stable and secure infrastructure solutions. Qualifications

  • Strong Infrastructure and System Administration skills, including experience with servers, virtualisation, storage, and operating systems (Linux/UNIX/Windows).
  • Solid Networking and Network Security skills, covering routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, and secure network design.
  • Advanced Troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose complex performance, availability, and configuration issues across multi-tier environments.
  • Relevant experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure), automation and scripting (e.g., PowerShell, Python, Bash), and configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Terraform) is beneficial.
  • A strong understanding of IT security controls, regulatory and compliance requirements in financial services, and best practices for high-availability and disaster recovery is advantageous.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and manage multiple priorities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience; relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA/CCNP, RHCE, MCSE, cloud certifications) are an asset.
