💼 Senior Infrastructure Engineer

📍 Remote - Travel every 3-6 months to our Bath (Datacenter)
👉 Circa £65k +5% bonus

My Product Path is supporting an organisation going through a major, company-wide digital transformation, hiring a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to play a key role in modernising and strengthening their IT estate. It’s a hands-on, technically strong role where you’ll help shape the future infrastructure landscape while keeping critical services stable, secure and performing.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance and configuration of our existing environments (server, security, monitoring, backups)
  • Assist the IT Ops team in 3rd line technical escalations for BAU issues.
  • Ensuring defined SLA’s and KPI’s are met, and continuity of service is maintained.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of infrastructure, configurations and procedures.
  • Regular updating to end users, key stakeholders and management.
  • Recommend strategic direction for Infrastructure solutions
  • Manage IT projects, delivering tasks to agreed timescales and quality and ensuring IT systems are reliable and performant.
  • Be an active team player committed to achieving success. Mentor and support junior engineers, sharing best practices and knowledge.

Your Background:

  • A mix of on-premises and Azure Cloud: proficiency in managing and deploying cloud infrastructure.
  • MS O365: Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 administration.
  • Windows OS: Strong experience with Windows Server 2016 and above, including IIS, DHCP, DNS.
  • VMWare/Hyper-V: Knowledge of virtualisation technologies.
  • Active Directory and Domain management: Advanced skills in managing and configuring AD and domain environments.
  • Network Routers, Switches, Firewall: Hands-on experience with network hardware and security.
  • Experience with Intune or Manage Engine.
  • Project Management: Proven ability to manage IT projects, including upgrades and migrations.
  • Security Best Practices: Understanding of security best practices and tools, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and vulnerability management.
  • Disaster Recovery: Experience in designing and implementing disaster recovery plans and procedures.

Experience

  • 5+ years of experience working in infrastructure environments
  • A motivated and engaging team member who is able to self-manage projects and issues whilst operating in a high-pressure environment.
  • Proficient in administering and supporting Windows Server environments
  • Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to resolve complex infrastructure issues
  • Ability to produce well-structured and written documentation and communicate to technical and non-technical audiences.
