Oracle EBS & PostgreSQL Database Administrator
Position Summary
Diodes Incorporated is seeking an experienced Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS) and PostgreSQL Database Administrator (DBA) to support mission-critical production and non-production environments. This role is responsible for database and application administration, monitoring, performance tuning, maintenance, security, backup and recovery, automation, and high-availability solutions across a global enterprise environment.
The ideal candidate has hands-on expertise with Oracle EBS R12.2, Oracle Database 19c, PostgreSQL, troubleshooting, performance optimization, and operational support. The position requires close collaboration with application, infrastructure, security, and geographically distributed DBA teams.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Oracle EBS and Oracle Database Administration
- Manage, monitor, and maintain Oracle E-Business Suite R12.2 production and non-production environments.
- Administer Oracle Database 19c environments that support Oracle EBS applications.
- Perform Oracle EBS cloning, patching, upgrades, and scheduled maintenance activities.
- Apply Oracle EBS application and technology stack patches using ADOP and established change-management practices.
- Administer and troubleshoot Oracle WebLogic Server, Concurrent Manager, Workflow Mailer, and related EBS services.
- Diagnose and resolve Oracle EBS application, middleware, database, availability, and performance issues.
- Coordinate EBS deployments and code migrations with application and development teams.
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end business processing activities.
- Plan and validate backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and high-availability procedures.
- Maintain database security, access controls, auditing, and operational documentation in accordance with company standards.
- Collaborate with local and remote DBA, infrastructure, application, and support teams.

PostgreSQL Administration
- Install, configure, monitor, and maintain PostgreSQL databases in production and non-production environments.
- Perform PostgreSQL upgrades, patching, migrations, backup, recovery, and routine maintenance.
- Configure and maintain PostgreSQL replication technologies, including streaming replication and logical replication.
- Deploy and support PostgreSQL databases in Docker container environments; experience with Kubernetes is beneficial.
- Implement and support high-availability and disaster-recovery solutions.
- Monitor database performance and optimize SQL queries, indexes, memory settings, and database configurations.
- Analyze and resolve database locking, blocking, connectivity, and performance issues.
- Manage database growth, capacity planning, storage utilization, and data-retention requirements.
- Automate routine administration, monitoring, backup, and reporting tasks using shell scripting or other appropriate tools.
- Maintain runbooks, operating procedures, architecture information, and troubleshooting documentation.
Operational Support and Collaboration
- Participate in scheduled maintenance and provide on-call support for critical database and Oracle EBS incidents, as required.
- Follow incident, problem, change, access-management, and audit-control processes.
- Communicate risks, status, root causes, and remediation plans clearly to technical and business stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities to improve reliability, security, performance, supportability, and operational efficiency.
Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- At least 5 years of Oracle Database administration experience.
- At least 3 years of PostgreSQL database administration experience.
- Strong experience supporting Oracle E-Business Suite R12.2 environments.
- Hands-on experience with Oracle Database 19c administration, backup and recovery, and performance tuning.
- Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL architecture, replication, backup, recovery, security, and performance tuning.
- Experience with Oracle EBS cloning, patching, upgrades, and ADOP.
- Experience administering Linux or Unix platforms; AIX and Linux experience is preferred.
- Experience with database monitoring, diagnostic, and performance-analysis tools.
- Working knowledge of scripting and automation in Linux or Unix environments.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and collaborate effectively in a global team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes container platforms.
- Experience administering Microsoft SQL Server or MySQL databases.
- Experience with enterprise high-availability, disaster-recovery, security, auditing, and compliance requirements.
- Experience supporting large-scale, business-critical systems in globally distributed environments.
Work Expectations
- Provide planned after-hours or weekend support for maintenance, upgrades, and critical production issues when necessary.
- Coordinate effectively across time zones and maintain clear operational handoffs and documentation.
