Lead the development of Microsoft Power Platform services used by thousands across HM Land Registry.
HM Land Registry are looking for a Senior Power Apps Engineers to provide technical leadership across its Power Platform estate. You’ll lead the development and support of modern low-code solutions, work with stakeholders across the organisation and help grow the capability of the wider engineering team. Permanent role, salary £48,400 - £59,300 (based on assessment at interview), 29% employer pension contribution plus full Civil Service benefits. Flexible, hybrid working from 14 UK locations.
About the Senior Power Apps Engineer
You’ll join HM Land Registry’s IT Operations Practice and lead its Power Apps Corporate team, supporting Power Platform services used by more than 7,000 internal users.
This is a hands-on technical role combining Power Platform development, DevOps, technical leadership and stakeholder engagement. You’ll work across Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI and Dynamics 365, helping to develop secure, reliable and scalable solutions while improving engineering practices across the team.
You’ll also work closely with architects, delivery teams and technical specialists, contributing to wider technology projects and helping define the future direction of HM Land Registry’s Power Platform services.
Responsibilities of the Senior Power Apps Engineer
- Lead the design, development, deployment and support of Microsoft Power Platform solutions.
- Develop solutions using Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI and Dynamics 365.
- Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines for Power Platform and Azure services.
- Translate business requirements into practical technical solutions.
- Provide technical leadership, coaching and mentoring to engineers.
- Act as a senior escalation point for complex technical issues and incidents.
- Improve automation, engineering standards, DevOps practices and platform processes.
- Work with architects, technical teams, suppliers and stakeholders on projects and new services.
- Maintain technical documentation, roadmaps, security controls and technical risk management.

Essential criteria for the Senior Power Apps Engineer
- Strong experience building, deploying and managing Power Apps solutions using CI/CD.
- Strong experience implementing and managing Microsoft Power Platform components and infrastructure.
- In-depth knowledge of Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI and Dynamics 365.
- Scripting or programming knowledge, such as C#, JavaScript, Python, Power Fx, HTML or CSS.
- Ability to identify and manage technical risk.
- Experience providing technical leadership, coaching or mentoring other engineers.
Desirable criteria
- Power Pages.
- Microsoft Copilot Studio.
- Stakeholder requirement gathering and solution design.
- ITIL 4 Foundation / Microsoft Power Platform Developer / PL-400 certification.

Additional Requirements
- HMLR expect everyone to spend 60% of their working time in one of the offices.
