Senior Infrastructure Engineer
We're looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer for a public sector organisation, based in Milton Keynes or London (hybrid), on an initial 6-month contract, paying up to £630 per day (Inside IR35).
This is a hybrid role with an expectation to attend the office in Milton Keynes or London around three days a week.
The successful Senior Infrastructure Engineer will support enterprise infrastructure platforms across on-premises and Azure environments. You'll focus on onboarding Windows and Linux servers to Azure Arc, deploying Azure Monitor Agent (AMA), and rolling out and maintaining XDR/EDR security agents at scale. You'll also keep the wider Windows and Linux estate secure, patched and reliable while working closely with Cyber Security and Operations teams.

Key Responsibilities
- Support enterprise infrastructure platforms across on-premises and Azure environments
- Onboard Windows and Linux servers to Azure Arc
- Deploy Azure Monitor Agent (AMA)
- Roll out and maintain XDR/EDR security agents at scale
- Keep the wider Windows and Linux estate secure, patched, and reliable
Required Skills
- Proven experience with Microsoft Azure administration and Azure Arc-enabled servers
- Experience with Azure Monitor Agent (AMA), Azure Monitor, and Log Analytics Workspaces
- Experience with XDR/EDR agent deployment across Windows and Linux estates
- Windows Server administration, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy
- Linux server administration
- PowerShell and Bash scripting
Networking Fundamentals

- Solid understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, routing, VPNs, firewalls, and proxies
- Experience with Azure networking such as VNets, NSGs, and Private Endpoints
Beneficial Experience
- Experience with Microsoft Defender XDR, CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, or Cortex XDR
- Experience with Intune, SCCM, Ansible, Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates
- Knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID and Defender for Cloud
Security Clearance
- Hold or be eligible to obtain DV clearance
