Senior Infrastructure Engineer

Up to £150,000 + Bonus | Hybrid (4 Days in Central London)

The Opportunity

We're partnering exclusively with a leading global investment bank to hire a Senior Infrastructure Engineer into a business-critical technology team supporting infrastructure across Europe and Asia. You'll join a high-performing Infrastructure team responsible for supporting mission-critical platforms across both on-premise and cloud environments.

The environment is heavily focused on VMware, Windows Server, enterprise storage, disaster recovery and AWS. Over the next 12 months, you'll play a key role in a major programme migrating newly acquired infrastructure into AWS while helping drive automation, resilience and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build and support enterprise infrastructure across on-premise and AWS environments
  • Lead infrastructure modernisation and cloud migration projects
  • Own High Availability, Disaster Recovery and business continuity capabilities
  • Administer VMware, enterprise storage and Windows Server environments
  • Develop automation using PowerShell, Python and Infrastructure-as-Code
  • Mentor and support other Infrastructure Engineers within the team
  • Collaborate with engineering teams across Europe, Asia and South America
  • Act as the senior technical escalation point for complex infrastructure issues
  • Participate in an on-call rota supporting business-critical production systems

Required Experience

  • VMware vSphere / ESXi
  • Windows Server, Active Directory & Entra ID
  • AWS infrastructure (EC2, IAM, VPC, S3)
  • Hybrid cloud environments
  • Disaster Recovery & High Availability
  • Enterprise backup technologies (Veeam, Rubrik, Zerto or similar)
  • Enterprise storage technologies
  • PowerShell and/or Python
  • Infrastructure automation and Infrastructure-as-Code
  • Strong troubleshooting skills within complex enterprise environments
