What you’ll be doing
You’ll be acting as a trusted technical advisor and collaborate closely with Corporate IT, business stakeholders, and external partners at ZEISS Ltd. We are looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to be responsible for the delivery, operations, and continual maintenance of our infrastructure services across UK & Ireland:
- Act as technical lead for infrastructure and workplace technologies, maintaining solutions that support commercial, service, and manufacturing operations.
- Manage enterprise infrastructure platforms, including virtualisation, compute, storage, backup, and recovery technologies, ensuring high availability.
- Monitor infrastructure performance, capacity, and availability, proactively identifying opportunities to improve system reliability, productivity, and operational resilience.
- Provide senior technical leadership and escalation support for complex incidents and problems, minimizing business disruption and driving root cause resolution.
- Ensure infrastructure services operate within governance, cybersecurity, and compliance frameworks, reducing organizational risk and protecting critical business assets.
- Mentor and develop engineers and technical colleagues, strengthening team capability, promoting knowledge sharing, and supporting succession planning.
- Oversee data centre and critical facilities operations, ensuring the reliable operation of infrastructure environments that underpin business-critical services.
