Senior Infrastructure Engineer – DV Cleared
Farnborough | Outside IR35 | 3-Month Rolling Contract
We’re looking for an experienced Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join a major Defence & National Security programme, working within a highly secure technical environment. This is a hands-on infrastructure role supporting the design, build, maintenance and continuous improvement of secure, multi-classification environments.
Role Overview
- Location: Farnborough
- Working Pattern: 4–5 days per week onsite
- IR35: Outside IR35
- Contract: Initial 3-month rolling contract
- Clearance: Active UK DV clearance is essential
What You’ll Be Doing
- Design, build, maintain and secure complex infrastructure environments.
- Support Windows and Linux server estates across highly secure environments.
- Work across VMware virtualisation technologies, including vSphere, vCenter and VCF.
- Support public, private and hybrid cloud infrastructure, including Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365.
- Maintain, patch and harden infrastructure in line with security policies and best practice.
- Support Kubernetes and OpenShift environments.
- Automate infrastructure and operational processes using technologies such as Ansible, PowerShell and Terraform.
- Monitor infrastructure performance, security alerts and availability, taking appropriate action where required.
- Troubleshoot complex infrastructure incidents and restore services quickly and effectively.
- Support networking, identity, SSO and end-user infrastructure.
- Contribute to Secure by Design principles across infrastructure and project environments.
- Work closely with engineering, architecture and delivery teams within Agile environments.
- Produce technical documentation and share knowledge across engineering teams.

What We’re Looking For
You’ll be a hands-on Senior Infrastructure Engineer with experience working within Defence, National Security or similarly secure environments. Experience across several of the following would be highly desirable:

Essential Requirement
Due to the nature of the programme, you must currently hold active UK Developed Vetting (DV) clearance.
This is an excellent opportunity for a DV-cleared Infrastructure Engineer looking for a hands-on contract where you’ll work with modern infrastructure technologies while supporting mission-critical Defence and National Security systems.
