Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

About the Role

This role exists to strengthen the depth and resilience of Plessey's on-premise infrastructure. We operate a mature estate spanning virtualisation, enterprise identity, networking, and core platform services, alongside continued growth in cloud-based workloads.

You will form part of the team responsible for the day-to-day health of this estate, building genuine depth alongside our existing platform expertise as the roadmap progresses. There is scope to specialise in key areas over time as capability builds across the team. Alongside this, a smaller and growing set of workloads runs in AWS and Azure, which you will support and maintain, working with the team to keep them secure and well managed.

Day to day, this includes patching, vulnerability management, and security hardening as part of the wider team, alongside project work to deliver IT solutions that meet business requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and support Plessey’s on-premise infrastructure, including Windows Server, Active Directory, VMware, Linux, storage and Kubernetes.
  • Support and maintain networking, firewall, Intune and M365 platforms across the estate.
  • Manage patching, vulnerability remediation and security hardening across infrastructure and endpoints.
  • Support and maintain existing AWS and Azure workloads, with a focus on secure, efficient and cost-effective infrastructure.
  • Develop and extend Kubernetes across on-premise and cloud environments, using Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD tooling.
  • Contribute to infrastructure and IT projects, delivering solutions that meet business requirements.
  • Produce clear technical documentation and share knowledge across the IT team to build resilience and reduce single points of failure.
  • Provide senior technical guidance and support with incident response and on-call activities as required.
