Do you have experience of deploying and managing an Agent based data collection architecture spanning across an On Premise infrastructure and a Hybrid Public Cloud estate including experience of deployment using Infrastructure as Code (IAC) alongside more traditional packaging methods for On Premise.

If so, click that apply button now and become our next Senior Infrastructure Engineer to lead our Asset Management Engineering Team.

Our Asset Management software, Flexera, is a central core to our ability to deliver cost effective services for the Department and we are looking for someone with the technical abilities, as well as stakeholder management skills, to join a small team to look after the current architecture. Asset Management skills would be advantageous to your application but not essential as training in the Flexera product suite can be provided. However, demonstrable experience in deploying an agent based collection architecture is essential.

You will join the Intelligent Service Performance team with a focus on Enterprise Tooling who are responsible for managing and maintaining a range of enterprise products that monitor and report the performance of the Department’s IT systems.

You will be directly responsible for the design, delivery and onboarding of our current Flexera FlexNet Management Suite (FNMS) installation as well as the detailed engineering and planning required to move this to the Flexera One SaaS platform. The responsibility further extends to the operational stability of our solutions and to improve the on-going robustness and resilience of this product.

You will have responsibility for maintenance and ownership of Flexera platform and deployment of agents required to collect the relevant Asset Management information as well as being responsible for Stakeholder Management of the DWP IT Asset Management function.

Job Description

  • Design, deploy, support and continuously improve enterprise monitoring and asset management solutions that underpin critical DWP citizen-facing services.
  • Lead the implementation and maintenance of agent-based data collection infrastructure across Windows, Linux, cloud and containerised environments, including AKS and EKS.
  • Manage and support hybrid infrastructure estates, deploying and maintaining cloud-hosted solutions through both Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and platform management tools.
  • Provide technical leadership and subject matter expertise for the Flexera Asset Management platform and wider tooling portfolio, ensuring services remain secure, resilient and high performing.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, service owners and engineering teams to ensure monitoring systems accurately capture and report key service and application metrics.
  • Drive engineering best practice, providing guidance and assurance to teams to support the delivery of robust, scalable and high-quality technology solutions.
  • Act as the technical escalation point for live service incidents, leading problem resolution activities and operating in line with ITIL Incident, Problem and Change Management processes.
  • Lead and develop engineers, supporting capability growth while ensuring the operational stability, performance and continuous improvement of the department's infrastructure tooling services.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
