Monitoring & Infrastructure Engineer
We are looking for an experienced Monitoring & Infrastructure Engineer with strong Microsoft SCOM expertise, solid Windows Server (Wintel) skills, and hands-on experience in hybrid on-premise and Azure environments.
The role focusses on supporting and enhancing enterprise monitoring and observability platforms, while also providing 3rd line infrastructure support across Windows, VMware, and Azure-based systems. The engineer will support BAU operations and project delivery within a large-scale enterprise environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and improve monitoring platforms including SCOM, Azure Monitor, PRTG, and VMware Aria Operations
- Develop and tune alerts, dashboards, and service views to improve proactive monitoring and reduce noise.
- Build and maintain SCOM Management Packs and monitoring configurations
- Automate monitoring and health checks using PowerShell
- Provide 3rd line support for Windows Server and VMware environments
- Support Azure hybrid services, including Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Azure Arc
- Work with infrastructure, cloud, application, and security teams on service onboarding, incidents, and RCA
- Integrate monitoring tools with ITSM platforms (e.g. ServiceNow)

Essential Skills
- Strong Windows Server administration and troubleshooting experience
- Hands-on experience with SCOM and enterprise monitoring tools
- Experience in hybrid cloud (on-prem + Azure) environments
- PowerShell scripting for automation
- Knowledge of VMware, monitoring concepts, and ITIL processes
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Desirable
- SCOM Management Pack authoring/tuning
- DevOps / CI/CD exposure
- SIEM or security-monitoring integrations
- Linux (RHEL) experience
- Enterprise-scale infrastructure background

This position will cover a duration of up to 6 months. There is a hybrid working policy and will require you to work 3 days per week on-site. This position is also subject to SC level security clearance. While this is an advantage, it is not an essential requirement to apply for the position.
