The Role: Senior Infrastructure Integration Engineer
Location: Glasgow, UK
Position Type: Contract Inside IR35
Remote work option Available: Hybrid – 3 Days Onsite
Job Description
Your responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and implement secure, scalable, and maintainable infrastructure solutions.
- Integrate vendor, open-source, and internally developed technologies into enterprise infrastructure environments.
- Lead security vulnerability remediation across infrastructure and automation platforms.
- Develop and enhance automation frameworks using Python, Perl, and related scripting tools.
- Build, manage, and optimize CI/CD pipelines, release automation, and deployment processes.
- Create and execute test plans, validation procedures, and rollout strategies for infrastructure changes.
- Perform lab, pre-production, and production validation to ensure stability and minimize deployment risks.
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, security, and application teams to assess impacts and drive issue resolution.
- Conduct code reviews, technical documentation, architecture discussions, and engineering planning activities.
- Improve platform reliability, security posture, operational efficiency, and infrastructure-as-code adoption across large-scale distributed environments.

Essential skills/knowledge/experience:
- Strong Linux Engineering Expertise with hands-on experience in system administration, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and distributed infrastructure environments.
- Advanced Python Development Skills for building automation, integrations, scalable tooling, and production-quality infrastructure solutions.
- CI/CD and Test Automation Experience including pipeline design, automated validation, release management, and deployment automation.
- Security and Vulnerability Management Knowledge covering secure coding practices, system hardening, vulnerability remediation, and risk mitigation.
- Infrastructure Integration & Operational Excellence with experience in large-scale production environments, distributed systems, root cause analysis, and cross-functional collaboration.

Desirable skills/knowledge/experience:
- Experience with Python, Perl, and Advanced Scripting for infrastructure automation and legacy platform integration.
- Hands-on Expertise in Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and configuration management tools such as Ansible, SaltStack, Terraform, or similar platforms.
- Virtualization and Private Cloud Experience including VMware ESXi, vCenter, virtual infrastructure management, and cloud platform integration.
- Security Compliance and Audit Exposure with vulnerability scanning tools, remediation workflows, security assessments, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Enterprise Infrastructure Integration Experience across networking, automation, operating systems, middleware, and application environments within large-scale production ecosystems.
