Senior Infrastructure Integration Engineer

Location: Glasgow

Role Type: Contract - 12 months

Work Setup: Hybrid - 2-3 days onsite

The Role

Our client is a large multinational firm that provides a range of financial services, including advisory, investment, and asset management solutions. It serves a diverse set of clients worldwide, focusing on strategic planning, market operations, and long-term financial growth.

What you'll do

  • Integrate, test and secure infrastructure codebases, focusing on vulnerability remediation, code hardening and reliable production releases.
  • Develop and maintain Python-based automation, integrating vendor, open-source and internal infrastructure solutions.
  • Build and enhance CI/CD pipelines, automated testing and release validation processes.
  • Create test and rollout plans, validating complex security and configuration changes in lab and pre-production environments.
  • Collaborate with engineering, operations, security and application teams to troubleshoot issues, assess risk and deliver remediation.
  • Contribute to code reviews, technical design and documentation while improving platform reliability, security and engineering practices.

What you bring

  • Strong Linux engineering experience, including configuration, troubleshooting, system diagnostics and operational support within large-scale production environments.
  • Proficient in Python development, with experience producing robust, maintainable code; Perl experience is advantageous.
  • Solid understanding of distributed systems, infrastructure services, networking and application integration, with strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with CI/CD, automated and manual testing, release automation and developing practical test and rollout plans.
  • Good knowledge of security, vulnerability remediation, secure coding and system hardening, with exposure to security scanning, remediation workflows and audit or compliance requirements.
  • Experience with infrastructure-as-code/configuration management tools such as Ansible or SaltStack, and ideally VMware ESXi, virtualisation or private cloud technologies; strong communication and ownership skills are essential.
