Job Purpose:

The Senior Infrastructure Research Analyst will be responsible for assisting in the identification and analysis of opportunities and trends in the European infrastructure market to help develop the firm's house view on target markets, key sectors, and value creation initiatives for BNPP AM Real Assets. This unique entrepreneurial role crosses research, strategy, and investments, working with the investment teams and senior leaders across the organization. This Senior Infrastructure Research Analyst will report to Justin Curlow, Global Head of Research & Strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct original thematic research across the four quadrants of real assets (debt, equity, public and private) by leveraging the firm's internal proprietary data, industry network, and third-party research providers.
  • Track Infrastructure markets; analyse and report infrastructure trends; forecast market conditions; integrate proprietary and third-party research into the investment lifecycle. Provide insights from strategic and tactical asset allocation, portfolio implementation, valuation, ongoing monitoring, and due diligence.
  • Establish and communicate the firm's infrastructure house view through both formal presentations and by writing white papers on markets, sectors, and transformative changes for internal use and publication. Bring new innovative analytics and insights to the research platform.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders throughout the organization to develop house views and ensure consistency across teams.
  • Presenting internally and externally on market and strategic investment views.
  • Responsible for supporting the maintenance of online libraries of data, charts and reports on relevant infrastructure segments.
  • Develop and maintain an extensive network of external senior advisors. Participate in industry conferences, client meetings, and internal strategy sessions.
  • Perform other tasks and projects as assigned from time to time.

Qualifications, knowledge and experience:

Experience & Qualifications:

  • The Senior Research Analyst will be a proven leader with relevant infrastructure research experience at an investment firm or research firm.
  • Degree qualified, with a degree in real estate, economics or finance preferred. Any post-graduate or professional qualifications – such as CFA, CAIA or IMC – are desirable but not essential.
  • She/he will possess a track record of providing a sound point of view on a range of sectors and how they influence the outlook on infrastructure investment.
  • The successful candidate will be a team player who takes the initiative and accomplishes goals while understanding and helping to effectuate the company's success.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Excellent qualitative and quantitative research skills. A background in data, forecasting, economics, and infrastructure research is an advantage.
  • A deep understanding of micro and macro-economic infrastructure investment trends.
  • Demonstrated innovative thinking on key topics that shape the future of real estate.
  • Knowledge of European infrastructure market knowledge a plus with key thematics including digitalisation, electrification, decarbonisation.
  • Credible and recognized in the market for being knowledgeable with experience in supporting and partnering with client-facing teams on customer presentations, presenting papers, speaking at industry conferences, and commentary.
  • A self-motivated person who demonstrates idea generation and thought leadership while meeting demanding timelines and managing competing priorities.
  • A high level of numeracy and general computer literacy (especially MS Office, and preferably modelling packages).
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills, with an ability to network and contribute at a senior level.
