We are seeking a Senior Insight Analyst to join Primark’s Applied Insights & Analytics team, leading the delivery of high-impact commercial insight that drives better business decisions across Trading, Buying & Merchandising, Supply Chain, Retail Operations, Finance, and Customer functions. Working closely with Business Partners and senior stakeholders, you will turn data, reporting, and analytics into clear, actionable recommendations that deliver measurable business value.
This role is ideal for an experienced analyst who combines strong SQL and analytical skills with commercial judgement, retail awareness, and the ability to simplify complex information into compelling insight stories that influence decision-making and drive results.
Job Description
What you'll do
- Insight Delivery & Value Creation: Lead the delivery of high-impact analytics and insight projects from problem definition through to recommendations, actions, and measurable business outcomes.
- Stakeholder Partnership & Commercial Insight: Partner with Business Partners and senior stakeholders to understand priorities, shape analytical approaches, and answer complex business questions that drive commercial performance.
- Data Analysis & Decision Support: Use SQL, insight applications, BI tools, and reporting outputs to interrogate data, identify trends, and develop practical recommendations that support decision-making.
- Reporting & Insight Communication: Develop and maintain high-quality dashboards, scorecards, and reporting packs, translating analytical findings into clear, compelling stories for both senior and non-technical audiences.
- Coaching & Analytical Leadership: Support and mentor Insight Analysts through peer reviews, problem framing, storytelling, and stakeholder engagement, helping to maintain high analytical standards across the team.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Data Engineers, Data Scientists, Governance teams, and business stakeholders to deliver integrated, value-driven analytics and insight solutions.
- Analytics Adoption & Continuous Improvement: Drive the adoption of analytics products and insight tools, while contributing to prioritization, process improvements, business engagement, and change management initiatives that maximize value delivery.

Qualifications
What you'll bring
- Commercial Analytics Experience (5-8 Years): Significant experience delivering analytics, reporting, and business insight within retail, FMCG, grocery, apparel, or other fast-paced consumer-focused environments.
- SQL & Data Analysis Expertise: Strong SQL skills with the ability to query, join, and analyze large datasets, using data to answer business questions and support commercial decision-making.
- BI & Reporting Tools: Hands-on experience using Power BI, Tableau, and other reporting or insight platforms to develop dashboards, scorecards, and actionable business insights.
- Insight Generation & Data Storytelling: Proven ability to translate complex business questions into analytical approaches, clear narratives, and practical recommendations that influence both senior and non-technical stakeholders.
- Commercial Acumen & Performance Measurement: Strong understanding of KPI frameworks, performance reporting, and value measurement, with the ability to identify, quantify, and communicate commercial impact.
- Stakeholder Management & Commercial Partnering: Experience working directly with stakeholders to shape insight demand, influence decisions, challenge assumptions constructively, and drive action through data-led recommendations.
- Analytics Leadership & Continuous Improvement: Experience supporting analytics transformation, reporting modernization, and prioritization initiatives, with a focus on delivering measurable outcomes, improving reporting effectiveness, and maximizing business value.
