The Role
A well-established independent insolvency firm based in Central London is seeking a experienced insolvency individual to join its Insolvency Closures Team, ideal for someone who enjoys working in a structured, detail-focused environment and seeing cases through the latter stages of their process to completion.
You will be part of a dedicated closures team within a busy insolvency department, responsible for the efficient wind-down of insolvency cases once the active casework has concluded. The role is key to ensuring statutory, regulatory and internal requirements are met before final closure.
Typical responsibilities include:
- Managing the final stages of insolvency cases (predominantly liquidations).
- Preparing and issuing final statutory paperwork and closure reports.
- Making up accounts to zero balance and completing final reconciliations.
- Liaising with internal case managers, external stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
- Completing final accounts, checklists and compliance documentation.
- Ensuring cases are closed accurately, on time and in line with regulatory standards.
- Supporting process improvements within the closures function.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
