As part of our continued growth, we are seeking an experienced and ambitious Senior Insolvency Solicitor to join our highly regarded Insolvency team based in the East Midlands. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded and technically strong solicitor with experience advising insolvency practitioners, directors, lenders, creditors, companies and other stakeholders on a broad range of corporate and personal insolvency matters together with exceptional client care skills and a passion for business development to play a key role in expanding our insolvency offering.

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Insolvency Solicitor with approximately 6 to 10 years’ post-qualification experience to join a specialist insolvency and restructuring team based in Market Harborough / the East Midlands.

The successful candidate will have a particular focus on non-contentious insolvency and restructuring work, while also being comfortable conducting contentious insolvency claims working alongside contentious insolvency colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise insolvency practitioners, companies, directors, creditors and other stakeholders on corporate insolvency processes, including administrations, liquidations, receiverships, CVAs and restructuring options.
  • Handle a range of non-contentious insolvency matters, including appointment documentation, pre-pack administration work, business and asset sales for insolvency practitioners, validation of appointments and security reviews.
  • Advise on insolvent-related litigation including on directors’ duties, antecedent transactions, wrongful and fraudulent trading risks, misfeasance issues and other advisory and recovery matters.
  • Provide commercially focused and practical legal advice tailored to clients' objectives.
  • Work with colleagues across corporate, commercial property, employment and dispute resolution teams to deliver integrated advice on insolvency matters.
  • Manage client relationships, take responsibility for day-to-day matter progression and ensure work is delivered to a high technical and commercial standard.
  • Supervise and support junior lawyers, trainees and paralegals where appropriate.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with insolvency practitioners, accountants, lenders, financial advisers, and other professional introducers.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities to develop new business and strengthen the firm's insolvency practice.
  • Represent the firm at networking events, seminars, and industry functions, acting as an ambassador for the Rothera Bray brand.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
