Role Overview
As a Senior Instructor, you will play a key leadership role in delivering world-class training outcomes while leading instructors, managing training resources, and building strong customer relationships within a complex Defence environment. You will be responsible for ensuring training operations are delivered safely, effectively, and in accordance with customer requirements, contributing directly to the development of Australia's future Defence capability.
Description
- Lead and coordinate instructors, training specialists and training resources to achieve successful training outcomes.
- Act as a key customer interface, building trusted relationships and supporting training operations activities.
- Manage training delivery, schedules, student progression and operational training requirements.
- Mentor, coach and provide subject matter expertise to instructors within my area of expertise.
- Drive continuous improvement of courseware, training materials and training devices.
- Support operational readiness by delivering instruction and maintaining training standards during periods of increased demand.

Minimum Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience within Defence, military, aviation, training, simulation or related operational environments.
- Experience leading teams, coordinating resources and managing training delivery activities.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and customer relationship management skills.
- Minimum 5 years' relevant industry experience.
- Australian Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within the Royal Australian Navy or broader Defence environment.
- Trade, technical, electrical, electronic, marine, communications or engineering background.
- Experience leading instructors, training teams or operational personnel.
- Experience working within Defence training systems and learning frameworks.
- Familiarity with simulation-based training environments.
- Previous experience coaching, mentoring and developing others.
Location:
Randwick, NSW – 5 days onsite required

Security Requirements
As the Australian Department of Defence is a major client, you must be eligible to obtain a Defence Security Clearance to work in this role – please be mindful to obtain a clearance, one of the main requirements is you must be an Australian Citizen.
