Your Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Insurer Relationship Manager to join the Lockton Market Strategy & Engagement Group – a high-profile team at our well-established insurance brokerage.

As a Senior Insurer Relationship Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining and expanding relationships with insurer partners, ensuring effective carrier management, and delivering exceptional service to these clients. This role requires a proactive, organised, and strategic individual who possesses excellent communication and negotiation skills.

Responsibilities:

Account Management:

  • Collaborate with insurer partners to build and maintain long-term relationships.
  • Ensure high-quality service delivery to insurer partners within assigned accounts.
  • Develop and implement strategic account plans by understanding insurer partner needs and goals.
  • Participate in meetings and presentations to showcase carrier capabilities.
  • Regularly review insurer performance and provide feedback to improve service levels.
  • Negotiate contractual terms and conditions with carriers to achieve beneficial agreements.
  • Resolve any carrier-related issues or disputes in a timely and professional manner.

New Business Development:

  • Identify growth opportunities within existing accounts.
  • Seek opportunities to develop new carrier relationships and expand market reach.
  • Contribute to the development of marketing materials and pitch documents.

Industry Knowledge and Market Research:

  • Stay updated on market trends, regulatory changes, and emerging insurance products/services.
  • Conduct regular market research to identify potential carrier partners and remain competitive.
  • Analyse industry reports and use data-driven insights to support carrier management strategies.

Other

  • Ad-hoc requests for assistance from around the business (note, unlike our competitors, Lockton have not split Insurer Relationship Management from Broking and the MSEG team are seen as a one-stop-shop for all things market related)
  • Specific project work around placement strategy for the Executive Committee.

Qualifications

Candidate profile

  • Proven track record of success in account management within the insurance industry.
  • Strong understanding of carrier management, insurance products, and underwriting principals
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with insurer partners.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to analyse industry trends, market data, and risk assessments.
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multitask effectively.
