Senior Interaction Designer - London, Manchester or Bristol

The Incubator for Artificial Intelligence (i.AI) is a team of about 80 builders and operators within the UK Government who use frontier AI to improve public services in healthcare, education, planning and parliament. We work at startup pace, with startup autonomy, on problems that affect the whole country. We are now looking for a Senior Interaction Designer to help decide how millions of people will experience AI in government.

What will I be doing?

  • Design usable products: create flows and interfaces that are accessible, on-brand and grounded in user needs
  • Follow the evidence: use research and data to test assumptions and make the case to stakeholders
  • Design responsibly: build ethical review and evaluation in early
  • Define AI interaction patterns: develop new patterns with teams across i.AI and government
  • Lead designers: set the standard for design practice and line manage junior designers
  • Contribute beyond your team: take part in i.AI, GDS and cross-government design communities
  • Build culture: help create an inclusive team built on honest feedback

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
