Senior Interior Designer
Location: London
Salary: £62,000 pa
Job Type: Fixed-Term-Contract - 1 year
Job Ref: 41146
Working Pattern: Hybrid - 3 days in / 2 days remote per week
I’m delighted to be working with a highly regarded London design studio with an excellent reputation for creating sophisticated, highly considered interiors across some of the most exciting projects within the luxury hospitality sector.
They are now looking to appoint a Senior Interior Designer to join their London team - an opportunity for an experienced designer to take genuine ownership of major projects, lead a talented team and play a key role in shaping ambitious, design-led environments from concept through to completion.
The Opportunity
This is a senior position for a designer who combines strong creative thinking with excellent technical and project leadership skills.
You’ll work closely with Directors and Associates to develop and deliver high-profile projects, helping establish the creative direction while taking responsibility for the day-to-day leadership of the design team and coordination of the wider project.
The studio’s approach is rooted in research, narrative and context. Their interiors are designed to feel distinctive and unexpected, but always considered and connected to the people, culture and environment around them.
You’ll therefore be joining a team where design quality genuinely matters, with the opportunity to influence projects rather than simply deliver someone else’s vision.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage design teams across projects from initial concept through to completion.
- Work alongside Directors and Associates to establish and develop the creative vision for projects.
- Translate creative concepts into compelling, buildable interior environments.
- Provide senior creative, design and technical direction throughout the project lifecycle.
- Lead day-to-day communication with clients, operators, consultants, contractors and other project stakeholders.
- Oversee design development, documentation and delivery, ensuring consistently high standards.
- Coordinate closely with the FF&E team throughout all project stages.
- Take an active role in client presentations and design reviews.
- Oversee drawing packages, specifications, schedules and presentation material.
- Manage delegation and workflow within the design team to ensure projects remain productive and on programme.
- Mentor and support junior and mid-level designers, helping to develop both their technical and creative abilities.
- Contribute to recruitment, team development and the wider management of the studio.
- Represent the studio externally and help build strong relationships across the design industry.
- Support pitches and business development activity where required.
- Monitor project resources, budgets, fees and programmes, escalating potential issues appropriately.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
