At Nottinghamshire County Council, we are dedicated to serving our community with integrity and excellence. Our Internal Audit Team plays a vital role in providing assurance over our services. We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic Senior Internal Auditor to join our high quality team and make a significant contribution.

As a Senior Internal Auditor, you will conduct complex audits with minimal supervision, contributing to the success of our Internal Audit Team’s objectives. Your expertise will help us maintain high standards of governance and control, ensuring that we serve our community effectively.

In This Role, You Will

  • Carry out complex audits, including investigations into irregularities.
  • Prepare draft and final reports, complete with supporting documentation.
  • Keep the Team Manager informed of significant matters, including any suspected fraud.
  • Liaise with departmental managers to discuss audit scope and outcomes.
  • Provide advice on financial and other controls to relevant stakeholders.

To Thrive In This Role, You Should Have

  • CMIIA or CCAB accounting qualification.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ recent audit experience.
  • Knowledge of internal audit theory and Global Internal Audit Standards as applied in the UK Public Sector.
  • Experience in providing advice on internal audit and control.
