About the organisation:
Our client is a large, complex national organisation delivering one of the UK's biggest infrastructure programmes, with both a substantial direct workforce and an extensive delivery supply chain. It is in the middle of a significant organisational transformation, with internal communications and engagement seen as central to its success.
The opportunity:
This is a rare opportunity to lead internal communications and engagement for a workforce of tens of thousands, including a supply chain of around 30,000 people, at a pivotal moment for the organisation. You will help launch a new engagement platform for that wider workforce next year, and play a central role in communicating a major culture change and transformation programme already under way.
Main responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver an internal communications and engagement strategy that builds an inclusive culture aligned to the organisation's strategic priorities.
- Lead internal communications that inform and engage employees on business priorities and key delivery milestones, promoting the employee value proposition.
- Support change and transformation communications activity across the business, helping shape the culture needed to achieve organisational objectives.
- Build relationships across the organisation to secure buy-in and sign-off for internal communications and engagement activity from executive and senior leadership sponsors.
- Manage delivery of employee engagement and wellbeing surveys with external providers, including action planning and associated communications.
- Produce and publish internal communications content across channels, ensuring it is accessible, consistent and aligned to strategic priorities.
- Develop and implement the internal response as part of wider crisis communications, as required.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
