Murray Recruitment are recruiting a Senior Internal Sales Executive (Electrical Distribution) for our client based in South Lanarkshire.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced sales professional from an electrical distribution background to join a well-established and growing branch. The role offers long-term career development and genuine opportunities to progress into Management positions as part of the company's succession planning strategy.

Overview

Working within a busy and successful branch, the Electrical Sales Executive will be responsible for managing customer enquiries, preparing quotations and delivering technical product solutions to an established customer base. This is a desk-based role requiring strong electrical product knowledge, commercial awareness and the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.

The successful candidate will play a key role in driving branch sales growth through effective account management, proactive quotation follow-up and excellent customer service, ensuring customers receive the right solutions to meet their requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and develop relationships with an existing portfolio of customers.
  • Respond to customer enquiries via telephone and email in a professional and timely manner.
  • Prepare accurate and competitive quotations for electrical products and solutions.
  • Proactively follow up quotations to maximise conversion rates and secure sales opportunities.
  • Interpret technical drawings and specifications to identify suitable products and provide effective solutions.
  • Provide technical product advice and support to customers.
  • Negotiate pricing and commercial terms in line with company guidelines.
  • Process sales orders and ensure a seamless customer experience from enquiry through to delivery.
  • Liaise with suppliers and internal teams to source products and resolve technical queries.
  • Identify opportunities to increase sales and strengthen existing customer relationships.
  • Maintain accurate customer records and sales activity using internal systems.
  • Contribute to the continued growth and success of the branch.

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience within an electrical wholesale or electrical distribution environment is essential.
  • Strong technical knowledge of electrical distribution products and applications.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Proven experience in preparing quotations, negotiating sales and converting opportunities into orders.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Customer-focused with a personable and professional approach.
  • Strong commercial awareness and problem-solving ability.
  • Good IT skills with experience using sales, quotation or ERP systems.
  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple enquiries and priorities effectively.
  • Ambitious and motivated, with a desire to progress into future branch management opportunities.

  • Competitive up to £55k DOE
  • Annual bonus of up to 7.5%.
