Summary
This is both a technical and client-facing role that would suit an electrical and/or electronics engineer who is currently working for a manufacturer of electronic, electrical, process or industrial equipment in a product design capacity or working for a certification body; and who is enthusiastic, pragmatic, and thorough and who enjoys being part of a small, growing team.
Responsibilities
As a well-established business, with a wide-ranging scope, the exact role requirements can be determined partly to suit the candidate’s own experience, interests and capabilities. We see this as an opportunity to develop with the business and potential for the candidate's role to evolve over time as the business grows. The initial focus will be to become part of the Intrinsic Safety team and evaluate products against EN/IEC 60079-11.

The expectation is that the role would involve responsibility for:
- Assessment of products designed to national, regional and international standards.
- Preparation of technical reports, technical files and certificates
- Preparation of quotations
- Technical advice meetings with clients
Senior roles may include responsibility for review of draft reports and mentoring trainee certification engineers.

Requirements
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills are essential as is attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple activities at once, a collaborative work ethic and a demonstrable desire to deliver outstanding service internally and externally.
An applicable degree, HND or HNC technical qualification is required, electronics or electrical subjects are preferred.
Experience in assessing products against the requirements of EN/IEC 60079-11, or the designing of a product to the same standards. Experience in other Ex standards is also advantageous.
