We are seeking an experienced Senior Investment Accountant to lead a high-performing investment accounting function within a complex financial services environment.
This is a senior role with responsibility for ensuring investment accounting outputs are accurate, timely, well-controlled and delivered through to trial balance, while providing technical leadership across investment accounting, valuation, financial control and reporting.
Key responsibilities:
- Leading investment accounting production through monthly, quarterly and year-end close cycles.
- Owning the investment accounting financial control environment, ensuring controls are effective, evidenced and continuously improved.
- Providing analytical review of investment results, including movement analysis and key market drivers such as yields, credit spreads, FX, inflation, duration and asset mix.
- Overseeing valuation and pricing controls for complex, illiquid and judgemental assets.
- Supporting the implementation of new investment products, asset classes and transactions from an accounting and control perspective.
- Driving process improvement, automation and standardisation to reduce manual workarounds and improve first-time quality.
- Managing the performance and service delivery of offshore/outsourced providers.

About you

- Strong investment accounting knowledge across areas such as fixed income, derivatives, funds, mortgages, private credit, property, infrastructure and other alternative or illiquid assets.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS 9 and UK GAAP investment accounting.
- Experience taking investment accounting outputs through to trial balance, including journals, reconciliations, valuations and ledger substantiation.
- Experience leading finance teams and managing complex close deliverables.
- The ability to explain technical accounting, valuation and control matters clearly to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
- Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with significant post-qualification experience.
