Mercer is seeking a talented individual to join our Delegated Investment Solutions Client Team as a Senior Client Analyst.
This role will be based in London, Edinburgh or Manchester and is a hybrid position, with a requirement to work in the office a minimum of three days per week.
About the Role
There are many names for investment solutions around the world, including OCIO, delegated solutions, fiduciary management and implemented consulting, but they all centre on the same thing – supporting institutional investors in an effort to meet their goals more efficiently.
The client team is the face of our Investment Solutions business, engaging directly with investors. In this role, you will work closely with our wider functions including Strategy, Portfolio Management and Risk and Operations to deliver better outcomes and become a trusted advisor to our clients.
As a Senior Client Analyst, you will support Client Directors and Managers in delivering service excellence, investment advice and managing projects and ongoing workflow. Topics can vary across performance analysis, strategic asset allocation advice, economic commentaries, document drafting and PowerPoint presentations.
While the role requires strong technical, numerical and analytical skills, it also requires strong project management and communication skills to bring together all of the elements of Mercer’s solutions for clients. You may also be given the opportunity to support one of our specialist teams in areas such as Responsible Investment, Multi-Asset, Fixed Income, Alternatives or Client Reporting.
Responsibilities
You will rely on you to:
- Support Client Managers and Consultant Directors with client communications including PowerPoint meeting decks, strategy changes, asset class manager and structure changes, market updates, monthly client dashboards and other materials.
- Develop a deep understanding of client needs and requirements ensuring excellent client service. Build relationships with other client team members and other teams across the business.
- Be proactive in managing client and project workstreams to ensure that we are delivering to meet the needs of our clients.
- Maintain and check technical accuracy, reasonableness of own work and that of others.

Requirements
What you need to have:
- Core technical skills, including an understanding of investment markets and asset classes.
- Strong attention to detail and accountability for outcomes, delivering high-quality work consistently.
- Advanced analytical skills and the ability to take on complex analysis.
- Effective listening skills, strong communication and organisational skills, and a client focus to engage with colleagues and clients.
- Ability to work within a team environment, share ideas and present persuasive arguments.
- An eye for process improvements and desire to implement efficiency enhancements using Artificial Intelligence where appropriate.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills; the ability to prioritise and effectively manage a wide variety of ongoing tasks.
What makes you stand out:
- Four or more years of investment industry experience.
- Experience working with institutional investors, including pension schemes, insurers, wealth managers, endowments, or foundations.
- Knowledge of investment markets, current market trends as well as investment risks and opportunities.
- Experience using Excel, PowerPoint, Word or similar software.
- Strong interest in leveraging data and AI technologies within investment processes.
- Progress towards, or completion of, a professional investment qualification such as CFA or equivalent.
- Strong project management and ownership capabilities, with demonstrated ability to lead delivery end-to-end.
