About Us

AustralianSuper is the largest pension fund in Australia and the 16th largest in the world by total assets. With over £200bn in assets under management, we are a fast-growing fund with a world-class investment team. We invest across global financial markets, real assets, private credit, and private equity to deliver sustainable, long-term performance for our members.

At AustralianSuper, our purpose is clear: helping members achieve their best financial position in retirement. As a global investor with collaborative, insight‑driven teams across multiple international offices, we operate for the long term and focus on excellent outcomes for members.

The Opportunity

The Portfolio Oversight team operates within the Portfolio Strategy and Risk (PS&R) team and is responsible for ensuring the aggregate portfolio and individual strategy components are best positioned to ensure that the Fund’s member investment options meet their investment objectives. Effective portfolio oversight is a key driver of improved long-term investment performance. Portfolio Oversight seeks to improve investment outcomes via driving improvements and discipline in investment decision making. Internally managed investment strategies are an increasingly important feature of the Fund’s investment program, and it is critical that the Fund oversee these strategies with appropriate rigour.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
