Salary: £59,800- £89,800 + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

Apply your investment expertise to decisions that shape SSE's future
As a Senior Investment Manager, you'll sit at the heart of strategic decision-making within SSE Energy Customer Solutions (ECS), combining investment expertise, commercial insight and Financial discipline to influence how capital is deployed across a diverse portfolio of energy and infrastructure opportunities.
You'll help shape investment priorities, improve commercial decision-making and maximise value creation across the ECS portfolio. You'll provide independent challenge, commercial leadership and investment discipline from opportunity inception through to investment approval.
What You'll Be Doing
- Lead the appraisal and evaluation of complex investment opportunities, providing recommendations that support portfolio optimisation and long-term value creation.
- Develop and shape investment cases, commercial structures, partnership models, joint ventures and strategic transactions.
- Assess investment, divestment and portfolio management opportunities, influencing capital allocation decisions across a diverse portfolio of infrastructure and energy projects.
- Challenge business cases, commercial assumptions and financial models to ensure investment decisions are robust, evidence-based and aligned to strategic priorities.
- Develop and shape investment cases, commercial structures, partnership models and joint venture arrangements for strategic projects and initiatives.
- Work closely with senior leaders, project teams and finance stakeholders to drive high-quality investment decisions, strengthen commercial governance and support strategic decision-making.

What We're Looking For
We welcome applications from individuals with experience in corporate finance, investment appraisal, capital allocation, portfolio management, infrastructure investment or M&A gained within capital-intensive industries. This may include experience working in, or advising clients across, sectors such as energy, utilities, infrastructure, power generation, oil and gas, transport, telecommunications, real estate or other industries where large-scale investment decisions, value creation and capital deployment are critical to business success. The successful candidate will likely have:
- Significant experience in investment appraisal, corporate finance, portfolio management, capital investment or a similar commercially focused environment.
- Strong financial modelling, valuation and commercial analysis skills, with the ability to translate complex information into clear strategic recommendations for senior decision-makers.
- Experience assessing investment portfolios, capital allocation decisions and value creation opportunities within large-scale or capital-intensive organisations.
- An ability to evaluate risk, challenge assumptions and provide commercially sound recommendations that influence strategic investment decisions.
- A strong understanding of business cases, investment structures, partnerships, joint ventures and investment governance and approval processes.
