Business Overview

Our Clients & Strategy team covers Business Development, Investor Relations, External Relations, Product Strategy & Innovation, Sustainable Investment and Brand, Marketing & Communications, including Internal Communications.

It is responsible for all communications to investor prospects, existing investors and their asset consultants, as well as a broad range of other stakeholders, including governments and media.

The Role

This role is accountable for leading the development and application of client, competitor and market intelligence frameworks that support IFM’s Investment Research function. The role will translate internal and external intelligence into actionable insights that inform client engagement, product strategy and solution design, working closely with Global Client Solutions (GCS), PS&I and asset class teams.

Your Background And Experience

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Economics, Finance or related discipline. Post-graduate study desirable but not essential.
  • 7+ years’ experience in investment strategy, asset consulting, portfolio management investment research or related field.
  • Strong understanding of:
    • institutional investor behaviour across a range of asset owner types (e.g. pension funds, sovereigns, insurers, wealth)
    • asset allocation / portfolio construction frameworks
    • dynamics private vs public markets and implications for portfolio design
  • Strong familiarity with:
    • client segmentation approaches
    • consultant and peer group dynamics
    • product positioning and market trends
  • Strong qualitative synthesis capability and ability to connect disparate data points into insight
  • approaches, decision trees
  • Strong written, data visualization, and verbal communication skills, including ability to produce clear, executive-level outputs
