Senior Investment Support Analyst – Total Return Swaps / Synthetic Strategies

Global Asset Manager – London, Hybrid

The Opportunity

A leading global investment manager is looking to hire a Senior Investment Operations Analyst to provide specialist support to its equity investment platform, with a particular focus on Total Return Swaps (TRS), synthetic strategies and complex investment instruments.

This is a senior-level role sitting at the intersection of investment operations, portfolio implementation and investment data, working closely with Portfolio Managers, Traders and a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.

The successful candidate will become a key subject matter expert across the lifecycle of derivative and synthetic investments, supporting areas including trade execution and capture, portfolio implementation, collateral, reconciliations, settlements, investment data and fund oversight.

The role will suit someone who enjoys operating in a complex investment environment, solving problems and working closely with investment professionals. There is also significant scope to improve processes, strengthen controls and contribute to wider strategic initiatives across the investment platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a senior point of contact for investment teams and operational stakeholders, providing expertise across investment operations, data and portfolio activity.
  • Provide specialist support and oversight across Total Return Swaps and synthetic investment strategies, covering trade capture, lifecycle events, collateral, reconciliations, settlements and ongoing monitoring.
  • Work closely with Portfolio Managers, Traders, counterparties, custodians, fund administrators and internal operations teams to ensure investment activity is implemented accurately and efficiently.
  • Investigate and resolve complex trade, data and operational issues, identifying root causes and implementing appropriate solutions.
  • Monitor key operational processes and controls, acting as a senior escalation point for issues that could impact portfolios, investment teams or fund outcomes.
  • Support the end-to-end investment lifecycle, developing a detailed understanding of how trading activity, corporate actions, market events and derivative lifecycle events flow through the operating environment.
  • Identify opportunities to automate, simplify and improve operational processes, strengthening controls and improving data quality and overall efficiency.
  • Build strong working relationships across Investment Management, Trading, Risk, Technology, Fund Accounting, Operations and external service providers.
  • Support new product launches and strategic investment initiatives, including assessing operational requirements, coordinating stakeholders and ensuring implementation readiness.
  • Contribute to the development of procedures, controls, governance frameworks and operating models as the investment platform evolves.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced colleagues, sharing knowledge and best practice across the team.
  • Maintain awareness of developments across investment products, market infrastructure, regulation and industry practices, applying this knowledge to enhance the firm's operational capabilities.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
