Senior Derivatives Lawyer / ISDA Negotiator – Day Rate Contract

Location: Fully Remote
Contract: Day Rate
Sector: Financial Services
Focus: Derivatives, ISDA, Futures & Clearing - US Markets

We are working with a leading firm looking to engage an experienced Derivatives Lawyer / Senior ISDA Negotiator on a day-rate basis, supporting a major global investment bank.

This is a fully remote role sitting within a highly sophisticated financial markets environment, with a focus on the negotiation, review and management of complex derivatives and trading documentation, particularly across the US market.

The position would suit someone with significant experience working with ISDA documentation and other financial markets agreements, who is comfortable managing negotiations independently and dealing directly with legal, front-office and operational stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drafting, reviewing and negotiating ISDA Master Agreements, Schedules, Credit Support Annexes and related documentation
  • Negotiating documentation relating to OTC derivatives, futures and cleared products
  • Supporting clearing arrangements and associated legal documentation
  • Reviewing and negotiating amendments, ancillary agreements and other trading documentation
  • Advising on contractual and documentation issues relating to derivatives transactions
  • Supporting matters with a particular focus on the US derivatives and financial markets landscape
  • Liaising with internal legal teams, trading desks, operations, credit and other stakeholders
  • Managing negotiations directly with counterparties and external counsel
  • Identifying legal and commercial issues and progressing documentation through to execution
  • Managing a high volume of matters while maintaining a strong understanding of the commercial context of each negotiation

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
