Join one of the UK's largest further education providers and play a key role in delivering reliable, high-quality IT services across a busy and diverse college environment. The Role

As a Senior IT Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting and maintaining the College's IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, end-user devices and Microsoft 365 services. You will act as a senior escalation point for technical issues, lead the resolution of complex incidents, and provide guidance and mentoring to Engineers and Technicians. This is a highly hands-on role combining day-to-day operational support with advanced troubleshooting, system administration and project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the senior technical escalation point for complex IT incidents, ensuring issues are diagnosed, resolved and communicated effectively.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring and guidance to Engineers and Technicians.
  • Support and administer the College's network infrastructure, including switches, firewalls, Wi-Fi and connectivity services.

  • Assist with software deployment and device management using tools such as SCCM and Jamf.
  • Maintain accurate IT asset records and configuration information.
  • Deliver technical projects and work collaboratively with colleagues, users and external suppliers to achieve successful outcomes.
  • Provide excellent customer service and ensure support issues are managed through to resolution.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
