About The Role

The Senior IT Engineer role is a vital position within a well-established and expanding Northern Ireland-based business. This is a permanent, on-site opportunity based in Saintfield, County Down, offering a salary in the range of £35,000 to £40,000. The successful candidate will serve as the senior technical resource, taking ownership of the company's IT infrastructure and supporting critical business systems. Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess over five years of experience in IT support, infrastructure, or systems administration. A strong background in Microsoft 365 and Windows infrastructure is essential, along with robust networking and troubleshooting skills. Experience supporting ERP systems or a keen interest in learning them is highly desirable. The candidate should demonstrate a proactive, hands-on approach, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently while taking ownership of tasks. Previous experience within manufacturing, logistics, distribution, or engineering environments will be considered advantageous, as it provides relevant industry context and understanding of operational needs.

Responsibilities

The Senior IT Engineer will be responsible for a broad range of tasks, including but not limited to:

  • Providing senior-level technical support across Microsoft 365, Windows, and networking environments to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime.
  • Managing servers, devices, user accounts, licenses, and IT assets to maintain a secure and organized IT environment.
  • Supporting and developing the company's ERP system, ensuring it aligns with operational needs and supports business processes.
  • Collaborating with external IT providers and software vendors to facilitate seamless integration and support.
  • Implementing and maintaining cybersecurity measures, backups, and access controls to safeguard company data and infrastructure.
  • Leading infrastructure upgrades, software rollouts, and continuous improvement projects to enhance efficiency and scalability.
  • Producing technical documentation and contributing to the refinement of business processes through technology solutions.
