Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer | 6 Month Contract | Up to £650 per day (Inside IR35) |

Location

Motherwell + travel across Central Belt sites

About the Role

We're recruiting a hands-on Senior IT Infrastructure Engineer to join a major M&A integration programme, taking legacy IT infrastructure and bringing it into a stable, standardised environment.

This is a genuinely hands on, onsite role. You'll be in server rooms and comms rooms day-to-day: racking and cabling hardware, physically relocating equipment between sites, migrating NAS storage, and reconfiguring networking as legacy systems are brought across - all while mentoring an early career in-house team through to handover.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Assessing legacy infrastructure and delivering pragmatic, low risk migration plans
  • Physically relocating equipment between sites - racking, unracking, structured cabling and rack configuration
  • Commissioning new server rooms, including rack population and cable management
  • Managing Dell server hardware, Windows Server, and virtualisation (Hyper-V/VMware)
  • Executing QNAP NAS storage migrations
  • Owning backup and restore using Veeam Backup & Replication, including active support during migrations
  • Configuring and troubleshooting Cisco Meraki networking (MX/MS/MR) - firewalls, VLANs, segmentation
  • Leading SaaS and tenancy repointing, including identity platform work (AD/Entra ID)
  • Acting as a senior escalation point, working closely with project managers, security teams and vendors
  • Mentoring junior IT team members ahead of contract handover

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
