Senior IT Operations Engineer
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior IT Operations Engineer based in United Kingdom.
As a Senior IT Operations Engineer, you will play a key role in building and maintaining a secure, scalable, and high-performing technology environment for a globally distributed workforce. You will combine advanced technical expertise with strategic thinking to improve IT operations, manage enterprise systems, and drive continuous infrastructure improvements. Working across SaaS platforms, endpoint management, automation, and AI-enabled tools, you will help shape the future of modern workplace technology. This role offers significant ownership, the opportunity to influence company-wide IT practices, and the chance to mentor engineers while solving complex technical challenges in a remote-first environment. You will collaborate with international teams and contribute to creating efficient, secure, and user-focused technology solutions.
Accountabilities
- Lead the design, implementation, and improvement of IT operations strategies, ensuring reliable, scalable, and secure technology solutions.
- Manage and optimize enterprise SaaS platforms, including identity management, collaboration tools, productivity applications, and endpoint management systems.
- Drive initiatives to improve IT infrastructure, security standards, system performance, and operational efficiency.
- Support the rollout, governance, and adoption of AI-powered workplace tools, ensuring effective access management, compliance, and usage optimization.
- Take ownership of macOS fleet management, device administration, and endpoint security practices.
- Mentor and support junior IT engineers by sharing technical expertise, encouraging knowledge development, and promoting operational excellence.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to align IT solutions with broader business objectives and evolving organizational needs.
- Lead technical projects, audits, access reviews, and system improvements while identifying opportunities for automation and process optimization.
- Act as a senior technical contributor, providing guidance on tool selection, architecture decisions, and long-term IT strategy.

Requirements
- Proven experience in a senior IT operations, systems engineering, or workplace technology role, with a strong track record of improving IT environments.
- Advanced knowledge of SaaS administration, identity and access management, endpoint management, and security best practices.
- Hands-on experience managing macOS environments and enterprise device management solutions.
- Experience administering enterprise AI tools, including access management, user provisioning, governance, and usage monitoring.
- Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, automation, compliance requirements, and operational processes.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to approach technical challenges strategically and independently.
- Strong leadership abilities with experience mentoring engineers and guiding technical initiatives.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience working effectively in remote, distributed, and asynchronous environments is highly valued.
- Fluency in English is required.
