Senior IT Project Manager | Payments & SWIFT
£850/day Inside IR35 | London | Hybrid | 12-Month Contract
I'm currently working with a major international banking organisation that is looking to hire an experienced IT Project Manager to lead a number of high-profile payments and SWIFT transformation programmes.
This is an opportunity to join a well-funded technology change function delivering strategic initiatives across payment processing, ISO 20022 migration, SWIFT messaging, regulatory change, and core banking platforms.
What you'll be doing
- Leading end-to-end delivery of complex payments technology projects
- Managing budgets, plans, governance, RAID logs, and stakeholder communications
- Working closely with Technology, Operations, Risk, Compliance, and Business stakeholders
- Delivering SWIFT MT/MX and ISO 20022 migration initiatives
- Coordinating testing, deployment, cutover, and implementation activities
- Managing vendors and third-party delivery partners
- Driving multiple workstreams within a regulated banking environment

What we're looking for
- Proven IT Project Management experience within Banking or Financial Services
- Strong Payments and SWIFT project delivery experience
- Experience delivering ISO 20022 programmes
- Knowledge of SWIFT MT and MX messaging
- Understanding of payment schemes such as CHAPS, SEPA, and TARGET2
- Experience delivering projects involving cross-border payments, settlement, liquidity management, or payment operations
- Excellent stakeholder management and governance experience

- Sanctions Screening or AML platforms
- Payment Hubs
- PMP, APM, or equivalent certification
