Yolk Recruitment is recruiting for a Senior IT Support Technician to join an organisation based in Lydney.

This is a hands-on senior technical role, acting as the escalation point for complex and business-critical IT issues while supporting the stability and continuous improvement of on-site IT services.

You'll work across end-user computing, infrastructure and manufacturing-adjacent systems, while collaborating with wider IT, engineering, security and manufacturing teams.

What you'll be doing

  • Acting as the senior technical escalation point for complex and critical on-site IT incidents.
  • Taking ownership of high-impact issues from diagnosis through to root-cause analysis and permanent corrective action.
  • Supporting on-site infrastructure, end-user computing and manufacturing-adjacent systems.
  • Working across Windows environments, endpoint management, Active Directory, Exchange and identity management.
  • Supporting endpoint configuration, patching, system hardening and security controls.
  • Leading site-level IT projects including technology refreshes, infrastructure upgrades and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Supporting incident, problem and change management within an ITIL-aligned environment.
  • Monitoring recurring issues and service performance to help reduce incidents and downtime.
  • Supporting hardware standards and asset lifecycle management.
  • Working with global IT teams, vendors and third parties on technical solutions.
  • Providing technical guidance and mentoring to Level 1 and Level 2 colleagues.

What we're looking for

You'll typically have 5–7+ years' hands-on IT support experience, ideally gained within an enterprise or manufacturing environment, with the technical confidence to deal with complex issues and take ownership when problems need escalating.

You'll need experience across:

  • Windows operating systems and enterprise endpoint management
  • Microsoft Office
  • Active Directory, Exchange and identity management
  • Endpoint configuration and patching
  • System hardening and security controls
  • ITSM platforms
  • Incident, problem and change management
  • Root-cause analysis and technical problem-solving
  • Supporting on-site infrastructure and end-user technology
