Senior ITAM Practitioner
Location: UK (Uxbridge, Sheffield or Manchester – hybrid)
About the Role
We are looking for a Senior ITAM Practitioner to join our IT Asset Management (ITAM) practice. This is a client-facing, consultancy-led role where you will act as a subject matter expert, supporting organisations to design and deliver effective ITAM strategies.
A key part of this role is working across the full lifecycle of client engagements, including supporting RFP responses, pre-sales activity, and solution design, as well as delivering complex ITAM programmes.
Key Responsibilities
RFP, Pre-Sales and Solution Design (Essential Focus)
- Lead and contribute to RFP responses, bids and proposals
- Partner with sales and pre-sales teams to shape compelling ITAM solutions
- Translate client requirements into clear, structured, and value-driven proposals
- Support early-stage qualification and bid/no-bid decisions
- Participate in client presenting, workshops, and solution discussions
ITAM Consultancy and Delivery
- Design and implement ITAM strategies across:
- Software Asset Management (SAM)
- Hardware Asset Management (HAM)
- SaaS and FinOps
- Lead complex client engagements from scoping through to delivery
- Develop governance frameworks, operating models, and optimisation programmes
- Identify and deliver cost optimisation opportunities across software, cloud, and hardware estates
Stakeholder Management
- Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders across IT, Finance, and Procurement
- Lead workshops to gather requirements and define business outcomes
- Present insights and recommendations clearly to executive audiences

Compliance, Audit and Optimisation
- Provide support for software vendor audits and compliance management
- Advise on contract governance, licensing, and optimisation strategies
- Manage risk and drive continuous improvement across engagements
Leadership and Practice Development
- Provide guidance and support to colleagues across ITAM engagements
- Contribute to development of methodologies and best practice
- Support knowledge sharing and continuous improvement within the team
Skills and Experience Required
Essential
- Strong experience in RFP responses, bid management, or proposal writing
- Proven background in pre-sales or consultancy within ITAM or SAM
- Experience delivering ITAM solutions in complex, enterprise environments
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
Technical Expertise
- Knowledge across:
- SAM
- HAM
- SaaS
- FinOps
- Experience with ITAM tools such as Flexera, ServiceNow, or similar
- Understanding of licensing models across major vendors (e.g., Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, SAP)
- Familiarity with ITAM frameworks such as ITIL or ISO standards
- Strong data analysis and reporting capability (e.g., Excel, Power BI)

- Delivering high-quality ITAM consultancy aligned to business objectives
- Contributing to winning new business through strong RFP and proposal support
- Leading complex engagements with excellent client outcomes
- Delivering measurable cost optimisation and compliance improvements
