About the Role
My client is a leading global financial services organisation seeking an experienced Senior Java Developer to join a large-scale enterprise technology programme. This is a senior technical role focused on leading backend application development initiatives and driving architectural decisions for robust, scalable, and high-performance server-side systems. You will provide hands-on leadership in building enterprise-grade Java solutions, guiding development teams, and influencing technical strategy and engineering best practices.
Key Requirements
- 7+ years of Java backend development experience.
- Advanced expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture.
- Strong experience designing and developing REST APIs and distributed systems.
- Experience with Oracle, SQL/NoSQL databases, and data modelling.
- Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, or other event-driven messaging technologies.
- Strong knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, Git, and DevOps practices.
- Experience with JUnit, automated testing, and code review processes.
- Experience with Spring Batch and Spring Integration.
- Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud platforms.
- Experience with Unix/Linux and shell scripting.
- Proven ability to lead technical initiatives, mentor developers, and contribute to architectural decisions.
- Strong understanding of backend security, performance tuning, and monitoring.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

The successful candidate will be comfortable leading the design and delivery of enterprise-scale backend systems, resolving complex technical challenges, and driving engineering excellence across modern Java microservices environments.
