About the Company

Our client is a global payment technology business operating as part of a leading payment processing group serving merchants across international markets. With a team of around 50 engineers, they build and maintain large-scale, long-lived payments infrastructure that they actively modernise as the business grows. The team operates with a strong emphasis on autonomy, outcomes, and engineering quality.

The Role

This is a backend-focused software engineering position on a platform built in Java and the Spring framework, with Hibernate and Oracle for persistence, JAX-RS for REST APIs, and JMS for asynchronous messaging. The role is fully remote within the UK and Ireland. You will work across the full delivery lifecycle, from requirements analysis through to production release, contributing to both new feature development and ongoing modernisation of the codebase. The team values engineers who understand the reasoning behind their technical decisions and can push work forward without hand-holding. You will collaborate closely with colleagues across engineering and take ownership of your deliverables end to end.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
