Job Title: Senior Java Developer
Location: Bromley & London - Hybrid (3 days in office is essential)
Contract: 12 months with possible extension for one more year.
Rate: £750 - £800 inside umbrella.
In connection with the ongoing support and development of the Futures & Options and Collateral business for Global Markets, we are looking for a highly experienced, strong Java Developer to join the technology teams in Bromley, London working on a range of applications for Collateral.
Responsibilities
- Develop, enhance and support a range of critical microservices and portlets using Enterprise/Core Java, JMS, Spring Framework, JDBC, and Java ORM technologies.
- Liaise with both technical and business colleagues locally in Bromley, London and at international locations in Singapore, India, New York and Chicago.
- Work as part of a wider development team spread between London, Singapore and India.
- Current team members will provide support to enable you to familiarise yourself with the relevant functional aspects of the development role.

Technical Skills
- Developing software applications using Java/J2EE frameworks
- Enterprise/Core Java, JMS, Spring Framework, JDBC, and Java ORM technologies
- Experience in Database programming tools (Oracle Database - SQL/PLSQL)
- Experience using version control/project tracking/CI/CD tools like GIT, Bitbucket, Jenkins and Ansible.
- Experience in design, development, testing and implementation of microservices and Web based applications.
- Solid understanding of the software development life cycle and SDM model for CI/CD processes and associated tools
- Serve as a development team member for Level 3 Production Support issue resolution
- Experience interacting with Business product owners and end users to define new software requirements and triage any issues that arise
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively under minimal supervision
- Experience working with Agile methodology and can effectively work as part of a wider development team spread between London, Singapore and India.
- Experience writing technical designs

- Kubernetes/Docker/OpenShift
- An aptitude for problem analysis and resolution and eye for details.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
