About The Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Developer to join our technical team supporting complex software solutions within the logistics and warehouse automation sector. This fully remote, permanent position offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects that have a significant impact on international logistics operations. As a key member of our development team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality software applications using Java and Oracle technologies. You will play a pivotal role in troubleshooting complex customer issues, leading technical investigations, and implementing robust solutions. The role also involves mentoring junior developers, collaborating closely with project managers and service account managers, and contributing to continuous system improvements to enhance stability and performance.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of five years of commercial software development experience, demonstrating a strong proficiency in Java or other object-oriented programming languages. You should have extensive experience working with Oracle or SQL databases and be familiar with related technologies such as Hibernate, JUnit, JMS, and XML. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are essential, along with previous experience mentoring or leading development teams. A full UK driving license and willingness to travel when required are also necessary. Experience in logistics or warehouse automation is highly desirable, providing valuable context for the role. Candidates must have full and legal rights to work in the UK, as we are unable to support VISA sponsorships.
Responsibilities
- Developing and supporting commercial software solutions using Java and Oracle
- Ensuring the delivery of high-quality, reliable applications
- Providing second-level support, troubleshooting complex customer issues efficiently and effectively
- Leading technical investigations and root cause analysis
- Managing software fixes, patches, and releases
- Supporting junior developers, sharing expertise, and fostering a collaborative team environment
- Collaborating with project managers and service account managers
- Creating comprehensive technical documentation and contributing to knowledge base articles
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and maintaining system stability
