Senior Java Developer

Build, improve, and ship software that matters.

We’re looking for an experienced Java Developer to join a collaborative engineering team and work on products used in a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.

You’ll be involved across the development lifecycle — from building new features and improving existing applications to writing tests, troubleshooting issues, and helping keep the codebase reliable and maintainable.

What you’ll be working on

  • Developing and maintaining applications using Java 8+
  • Building and improving backend services and web applications with Spring / Spring Boot
  • Working with relational databases and writing efficient SQL
  • Contributing to both new development and the improvement of existing products
  • Writing clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
  • Investigating technical issues and finding practical solutions
  • Collaborating with developers and other stakeholders throughout the development process
  • Taking part in an Agile/Scrum way of working, including stand-ups, planning, and retrospectives
  • Using version control and modern development practices to keep the development process smooth and reliable.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
