Senior Java Engineer
London | Hybrid
Myn is recruiting for a major financial services organisation in London and is looking for experienced Senior Java Engineers to join teams building and evolving large-scale, business-critical technology platforms.
This is an opportunity to work in an engineering environment where performance, resilience, and quality genuinely matter. You’ll be working on backend services that operate at scale, contributing hands-on code while helping improve the architecture and engineering practices around them.
The role
You’ll design, build, and enhance Java-based services and APIs, working as part of an experienced engineering team across new development, modernization, and continuous improvement.

- Involved throughout the development lifecycle, from breaking down requirements and contributing to technical design through to coding, testing, deployment, and production support.
- Opportunities to improve existing systems, introduce better engineering practices, and make greater use of automation and AI-assisted development.
What we’re looking for
- Strong commercial Java development experience
- Spring / Spring Boot
- REST APIs and microservices
- Experience building distributed, production-grade systems
- CI/CD and automated testing
- Good understanding of software design principles and clean, maintainable code
- Experience working with cloud-based applications
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Comfortable working within Agile engineering teams

Experience with AWS or GCP, Kubernetes, Terraform, Oracle, Linux, or AI-assisted development tools would be advantageous.
Previous experience within fintech, payments, banking, trading, or another high-volume transactional environment would also be valuable, although it isn't essential.
