About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Java Developer to join our dynamic engineering team in London. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining our cloud-based data and analytics platform, which serves a wide range of public sector clients across the UK. Your expertise will help ensure the platform is robust, scalable, and secure, supporting mission-critical operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Java development, with a solid understanding of Linux environments, and a passion for creating high-quality, efficient code. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on impactful projects that contribute to public sector innovation and digital transformation.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience (5+ years) in Java development, with a strong portfolio of successful projects.
- Extensive experience working within Linux-based environments.
- Solid understanding of cloud computing concepts and platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Familiarity with RESTful API development and microservices architecture.
- Experience with version control systems such as Git.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable and secure Java applications within the cloud-based data platform.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements and translate them into effective solutions.
- Implement best practices for code quality, testing, and deployment to ensure high standards.
- Optimize application performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure system reliability and efficiency.
- Participate in code reviews, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Contribute to the documentation of system architecture, processes, and technical specifications.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and incorporate innovative solutions into the platform.
