SENIOR JAVA SOFTWARE ENGINEER

GLOUCESTERSHIRE (on-site)
Between £70,000 - £77,000 (DOE)
Clearance: SC Cleared

We are delighted to be partnering with an established technology organisation delivering specialist software and engineering solutions for highly regulated and security-sensitive environments. They are seeking a Senior Java Engineer to join their growing engineering team, working on complex and security-critical technology projects, on a full-time permanent basis.

You will be involved in the design, development, and integration of software applications, working as part of a collaborative engineering team to deliver reliable and maintainable solutions.

The Role:

  • Developing and maintaining software using Java and C++.
  • Building and integrating applications using Spring Boot and modern software engineering approaches.
  • Contributing to the design and development of high-performance, reliable software systems.
  • Developing and maintaining automated CI/CD pipelines to support efficient software delivery.
  • Writing and maintaining unit tests to ensure code quality and reliability.
  • Working with other engineers to investigate technical issues, identify solutions, and improve existing systems.
  • Contributing to code reviews, technical discussions, and wider engineering practices.
  • Working with modern development tooling and supporting the continuous improvement of the team's software development processes.

Skills/Experience Required:

  • Strong commercial experience with Java and C++.
  • Strong experience with Spring Boot.
  • Experience with Reactive Programming, such as Spring Reactive.
  • Experience with source code management tools, particularly Git.
  • Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, including GitLab Pipelines, Jenkins, or CodeCommit.
  • Experience with unit testing frameworks.
  • Commercial experience with Python.
  • Strong understanding of modern software engineering practices and development methodologies.

Clearance Requirement:
